Heavy is the head that wears the crown!

smiley pills from a happy pharmacist Regina, as most women named Regina know, and like to remind everyone, means “Queen” in Latin. I have always thought of myself as a queen. Sometimes at work I end e-mails with “The Queen Has Spoken.” It’s all in good fun. But sometimes, heavy is the head that wears the crown! Like today-boy, was it busy at work! Not unexpected, since we were closed yesterday and had to make up for it, but usually on a Monday, or on a day after a Monday Holiday, we don’t get a lot of phone calls. But we did today! And a lot of them were for me! I love talking to the facilities (our pharmacy services jails and prisons), don’t get me wrong, and I love helping them out and solving their problems, it was just, well, not expected! Oh, well, blah, blah, blah, my problems, my problems…we got everything done, and I guess I felt…empowered at the end of the day! I just had to compare myself to a Queen while watching “The Queen,” with Helen Mirren. Man oh man, are her glasses too big for her face-as one queen to another, sweetie!

Ok, so I am slowly updating my Photo Gallery . I just posted pics from my brother Sam’s 39th birthday par-tay at Benihana. YUMMY! Also my 100th workout pic from Curves:

Man, I think I will go upstairs and read some Harry Potter…then fall into a blissful sleep…I wish the same for all…good night!

3-day weekend! Huh? Monday already?

Posted just for you by Regina on 03 Sep 2007 at 09:00 pm | Tagged as: Everyday

smiley pills from a happy pharmacist Well, just a few short hours left in my fabulous 3-day weekend. I got a lot accomplished and managed to relax and have some fun too. Friday night I was super tired and came home, ate dinner, relaxed and went to bed early. I woke up Saturday and was dizzy again! Booo!!! My mom picked me up and we went mattress shopping. We both got queen size Spring Air Back Supporter Euro Top no-flip mattresses. OMG, this is such a SWEET mattress! They are delivering mine Saturday and I am sooo excited. I was watching ShopNBC Friday night and they said that if your mattress is 10+ years old, it is double the weight it was when your bought it–because of dust mites and bedbug waste! EEEWW!! My mom’s mattress is 20+ years old, so she definitely needed a new mattress! Mine isn’t 10+ years old, but it’s close, and I think I may have bedbugs. EEEWW!!

I would be remiss if I did not wish my “baby brubber” Sammy a happy 39th birthday! Here he is @Benihana last night with his festive birthday hat!

I am known as the “card queen,” always finding the perfect card for everyone and every occasion. I got Sam a card with a dog and a cat on the front, and the dog was waving his paw near the cat and saying, “Does this bother you? I’m not touching you!” Hee hee! Inside it said, “Ah, memories…” Perfect for a little brother! Love ya, Samster! Happy 39th!

All day Sunday before Benihana I worked hard, sweeping and mopping and vacuuming my house. The dizzies were gone so I took advantage of it. I got quite a workout! It was soooo nice not to have to get up at 6 am today like I usually have to on Mondays. I slept in and did laundry and did some more cleaning. Ah, the exciting life I lead. But it feels good to get so much done. And work tomorrow will be super-busy, since we will do the equivalent of about 2 days’ worth of work in 1. But it’s worth it to have a SWEET 3-day weekend! Happy Labor Day everybody!

More pics!

smiley pills from a happy pharmacist Yes, slowly but surely I am adding pics from the last 3 or 4 years to my Photo Gallery. I hope you enjoy them. One very cool set of pics comes from Philadelphia’s Magic Gardens, a very cool art installation in downtown Philly where this local artist takes old bottles, dishes, etc and has created a, well, magical place which everyone can enjoy. My boss and I went out to NJ on a business trip and found ourselves with some extra time. We walked around downtown Philly, a place they call “Antique Row,” and we saw a lot of cool shops and such. We just happened upon PMG and it was too cool! Here are two of my fave pics from PMG:

I may be overusing the word cool, but I did think this was one of the coolest places I have ever been. I hope you like the pics. I also have posted before and after pics of my kitchen remodel from 2 years ago. Hee! I LOVE my kitchen. Anyway, that’s about enough fun for one night. Good night, everybody!

Owen Wilson? WTF?

Posted just for you by Regina on 27 Aug 2007 at 09:10 pm | Tagged as: Celebrity File, Everyday

smiley pills from a happy pharmacistOwen Wilson tried to kill himself? Goodness, I hope not! It looks like it, though. Dude! I’ve had some tough times-I’ve felt like killing myself-no lie-but I have never attempted it. I hope he gets the help he needs. Whatever it is, Owen…I hope you can deal with it. Too bad my therapist has a waiting list right now; she’s the best!

MAN! It was busy at work today-and my phone rang non-stop. Things were looking good by the time I left at 5 pm, though. There were a lot more new orders than usual and fewer refills and clinic stock orders; new orders are much more time- and labor- intensive than refills, you see. We are closed next Monday for Labor Day-whoo-hoo! I hope the rest of the week isn’t quite as busy as today. Ah, what the heck-bring it on! It’ll make the week go faster! Kidding!

I am sooo excited! I am going to see Dr Shideler, the best dermatologist ever, to get a mole and some annoying skin tags removed. Skin tags are a PIA and I am soooo glad to get them removed! Also this mole is suspicious. I am a member of the Pale Force, you see, and as such am susceptible to skin cancer and such. Hopefully this isn’t cancerous, but you never know. Did I mention I got to meet Jim Gaffigan with my friend Mo? We made “Pale Force” T-shirts and went to his concert. He loved them! Here’s the pic:

Red-eye, baby! OH YEAH! He’s sooo nice. He gave us hugs and signed a poster to me, [His] pale princess! Goodness, I have to get up early tomorrow…good night, all!

Quick update…

smiley pills from a happy pharmacist Quick update..head over to the My Photo Gallery and scroll down to the “Things I Love” gallery; there you will find some “Before” and “After” pics of my kitchen. I renovated about 2 & 1/2 years ago and couldn’t be happier. I used Pioneer Kitchens of Indianapolis and I must say they were great to work with. Highly recommended. Oh well, enough fun for one day. Busy week coming up; lots of appointments and such; skin tag/mole removal, EMG and MRI. Fun, fun, fun. Good night, everybody!

Happy Sunday!

smiley pills from a happy pharmacist So, yeah, I put my beloved purple mirrored disco ball is back! Twice! And my super-cool “Regina” blinkie! Just because I am 40 doesn’t mean I can’t have disco balls in my header! Heck YEAH! And I added a “funny quote of the day.” I hope everyone enjoys the layout. I also added some more links to my blogroll, including my Photo Gallery. I am now going to go add some more recent pics to it. Enjoy!

Another super happy hooray day..for the most part…

smiley pills from a happy pharmacist I think the smiley pills icon is going to once again become a permanent fixture of my posts. I do love it so! It was a good week at work, although we did have some sad news. A good friend and co-worker went into premature labor (21 weeks) and the baby, a boy, died shortly after birth. Sorry, sweet pea! I love you and am thinking of you!

Otherwise, as I said, it was a nice week at work. Not too busy, and I feel like I got a lot accomplished. After work I went to see “Hairspray.” It’s cute. John Travolta did a great job playing Tracy’s Mom; he is quite a handsome woman. I couldn’t believe the number of people in the audience who talked, LOUDLY, during the entire f**cking movie!!!!!!!! People, for real! You can talk at home for free! if I pay $8.50-$9.00 to see a movie, I want to hear the movie, not YOU!!!!! And don’t think you can whisper either…that’s almost worse! When I saw “Ray,” there was a young couple loudly whispering and I shushed them. They ignored me, but I continued to shush them. Finally the guy said, “We’re WHISPERING, all right????” “NO!” I replied. It was not ok! They finally shut up!

I know it’s fashionable to hate the French, but I hear that they DO NOT TALK during movies–EVER! That is something we could definitely learn from them. Can you tell this is something I feel strongly about? Once I went to the movies with a friend and we got there early and got great seats, but the movie theater filled up fast and these girls came in late and wanted to sit together and wanted us to move so they could. I told them I would move if they would promise me not to talk during the movie. They promised, we moved, and, yes, you guessed it–they talked the whole way through the movie! Grrr…. I am NEVER doing that again! Word to your mother!

Whew! What else? Not much. It’s the weekend and I don’t have too much excitement planned. OMG! Let me tell you about this funny dream I had about my mom. It’s funny because she is TOTALLY NOT like this. She called me, my brother and sister over for a meeting. She had something important to tell us. What could it be? We wondered. She said that she was just sick of us, just totally sick of us..always calling her, always wanting to do things with her, or wanting her to do things with us…so she had seen a lawyer. She had legal papers drawn up stating that we were no longer mother and child, as well as restraning orders forbidding us from coming within so many yards of her… We totally freaked out! My sister said, “What about Helen and Josh (my niece and nephew, my sister’s daughter and son)?” Mom said, “Oh, yeah..them too! I can’t stand them either!” So my sister and I were crying, my brother was freaking out….I started reading the papers and each had a physical description of the person in question. Mine said I weighed 331 pounds! (Not the case, BTW). I said, “Mom! That’s so mean!” She didn’t care. Then I woke up. Weird, huh? Especially, as I said, because my mother would do anything for her family. She loves it when we call her and we have a great time together. And she supports my working out and losing weight. So I will have to ask my therapist what this dream represents. My mom thought it was funny, after a while; at first she was upset because she said, “I could never be so mean!” That’s why it’s so funny!

Like I said, not too much excitement this weekend…might go see “Talk To Me..” with my mom, you know, if I can get the restraining order lifted! Just Kidding! Good night, everybody!

I had a great day today!

Posted just for you by Regina on 23 Aug 2007 at 01:26 am | Tagged as: Everyday

Had to break out the “smiley pills” icon– I just had a great day today and felt the need to blog about it!  I woke up a little late and was wondering if it would be a bad day, and ran into a bit of traffic on the way to work, but that’s nothing new…got to work on time.  It wasn’t terribly busy at work so I could catch-up on some of my other projects.  That always feels good.  I didn’t get a lot of phone calls, well, I always get a lot of phone calls, but no one was really upset or angry, and that’s a good thing.  I heard some interesting stories.  One nurse (I am a pharmacist at a closed-door pharmacy which services jails and prisons) told me she just returned from a fellow nurse’s wedding-in JAMAICA!  The wedding was last Saturday and the wedding itself was beautiful, went off without a hitch, great weather.  Hurricane Dean hit the next day.  YIKES!  They rode it out playing gin rummy all night long on the 3rd floor of the hotel, behind steel shutters.  Whoo-hoo!  Party!  At least she made it out OK and back to scenic New Jersey!

I worked out at Curves at lunch, as I do 3 times a week; Monday will be my 100th workout!  YAY!  for me!  Anyway, I had a great workout and then came back and ate lunch.  Sometimes after lunch we get slammed but not today, it was steady but not too busy.  More phone calls, but again, nothing too bad.  Then I received my yearly evaluation and my supervisor, our assistant director, Lori, said some very nice things about me.  That felt GREAT!  Then we finished up the afternoon’s work and it was time to go home.  No big traffic tie-ups and I got home in 25 minutes.  I had a nice dinner, cleaned up the house a bit, then when my chores were done I thought I would blog.

So nothing too exciting, just a great day!

OMG!  You all have to go see Superbad!! it is soooo funny! There are some gross-out moments, but they are so well done that you find yourself laughing anyway! Michael Cera is such a cutie! I want to have 10,000,000 of his babies! Hee hee! Seriously, though, his one-liners at the end of certain scenes are so side-splitting I about spit out my popcorn! Just go see it! Don’t let people endlessly quoting the movie ruin it for you-because there are so many quotable lines in this movie! I won’t quote any here, just to be nice!

So I was soooo dizzy at work last Thursday…it came on all of a sudden. I thought it would pass later that evening, if I ate well and/or rested or relaxed. No such luck. I crawled into bed and leaned over to my right side to sleep, as always, and the room began to spin, violently, like a cartoon…I was scared to death, not to mention nauseous. I tried to lean over to my left side, and the same result ensued. YIKES! I had to sleep on my back, which is uncomfortable for me. I kept waking up, feeling as if I were going to fall. I didn’t get much sleep, needless to say. The next morning I called my neurologist’s office to see if I could be seen. I had to leave a message; when I didn’t hear back by 10 am, I decided to go to the ER. They drew labs and did a head CT; results were normal. I asked the Doctor to check my ears for spiders-no spiders. No ear infections-I guess I am just dizzy. My mother has similar issues; don’t all women eventually turn into their mothers? I don’t know. I was exhausted after all this nonsense and I didn’t go into work. I slept most of Friday and Saturday. I was still dizzy, but at least by Saturday night I could lean over to the side to sleep. Sunday I felt a little better and went to see Superbad. I went to bed early Sunday night and dragged my dizzy butt to work Monday morning. I even worked out at Curves! I felt a little better Monday night and a LOT better Tuesday. My mother says that she gets these 2-3 day spells from time to time, then they go away. I hope I don’t get any more! BAH! I think the dizzies were all gone today-it was my good day, after all!

Well, just about time to go upstairs and get ready for bed. Good night, everyone!

Finally decided on a theme!

Posted just for you by Regina on 22 Aug 2007 at 01:29 am | Tagged as: Constantine, Blog/Webhost

Ok, so I finally decided on a theme…it’s called Razzle Dazzle; I edited it a bit and I think it’s pretty sharp. Hope you like it. I also switched to bluehost.com and I highly recommend them. Their cpanel is SWEET and intuitive. They have a program on there to install WordPress for you-very cool! I dumped IPowerWeb while I was on hold with them. They guy came back and said he couldn’t help me, and I said that he could-he could transfer me to billing so I could cancel my account. He did so without a question or comment. The billing guy couldn’t have been nicer. He didn’t really seem to care that I was leaving. **SIGH** I own my domain name, and as of today it’s officially transferred. YAY! The only downside to WordPress is that I can’t transfer my old blogger blog because I published via FTP. Bummer-but if you want to see it, there is a link over on my blogroll. Dare I say this blog is a bit more grown-up? GASP!

Anyway, it was a year ago last week that I flew to Boston to see Constantine Maroulis and his band. Here is a pic of Constantine with his HOT guitar player, Mike:

Con&Hot Guitar Player, Mike
Very nice, how much? Hee hee!Well, this is just the beginning of my new blog. I hope y’all like it! Got to go to bed. Good night!
